Position Summary

Childhelp, a premiere Residential Treatment Facility and group home in the hills above Beaumont, California has  immediate openings for a TBS Coach.  In this role, you will provide behavioral services for severely abused, neglected and at risk children, and children with severe emotional challenges.  You will be responsible for addressing and resolving the targeted behaviors and/or symptoms that are jeopardizing the client's current life activities including education, personal and family relations, etc.  You will develop and implement functional assessments and Treatment Plans.


In addition, you will:

Implement and monitor Treatment Plans, which include specific target behaviors, as well as develop interventions and safety plans

Provide modeling, structure, support and behavioral interventions to teachers, staff, family members and other individuals involved with the client

Understand the importance of keeping services limited to short term behavior-specific treatment

Provide education and training to family members, school staff and other individuals providing care and support to the client

Provide a minimum of biweekly feedback to the client's parents, teachers, social workers, etc. regarding the status of the Behavioral Specific Treatment Plan

Document client's progress along with continuing needs and recommendations
 

    
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field; Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science or Social Work desired

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience working with children with severe emotional issues and behavioral problems preferred

Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Must have a clear State of California Driver's License and the ability to pass a 3-tier background clearance

Bilingual speaking and writing skills a plus

The Childhelp Merv Griffin Village is located in Beaumont, California.  Beaumont is 90 miles east of Los Angeles and 30 miles west of Palm Springs off Highway 10.  The Village has been providing a healing home environment for severely abused, neglected, and at-risk children since 1978.  Producing a true community atmosphere, the Village houses as many as 84 children ranging in age from 6 to 14 years old.  The residents live in cottages and are grouped by age and treatment needs.  The children arrive at the Village experiencing severe behavioral and emotional problems as a result of their previous abusive or neglectful situations.
