Position Summary:
 

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership for the 60th anniversary capital campaign fundraising initiatives and activities of the organization to secure financial resources to achieve its mission. This role will also be responsible for ensuring all project planning and scope of work is identified, communicated and managed to hit all milestones on the timeline for the 60th anniversary celebration.

 

This is a temporary full-time position through June 2019. Contract employment will be considered for the right candidate.

 

The objective for this position is to lead all efforts towards achieving the $60M fund raising campaign in honor of the 60th anniversary of Childhelp.

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Day-to-day management of all campaign activities including directing campaign marketing and identifying key prospects within the community in which we operate as well as nationwide opportunities

  • Sourcing and securing opportunities to respond to proposals for foundations and corporations for appropriate funds for the campaign

  • Design, implement and manage all events including invitations food/beverage, décor, etc.

  • Partners closely with Chief Development Officer and Chief Communications Officer on all communication to donors, Board of Directors and key relationships within Childhelp

  • Coordinates committee meetings and compiles notes/action items to ensure all project milestones are achieved

  • Prepare campaign reports and evaluations including monthly production reports on activities, gifts solicited but not committed and gifts committed and received, as well as potential outstanding

  • Prepared reports projecting gift strategy to meet various gift targets and timelines

  • Work directly with campaign leadership committee for guidance and recommendations on all aspects of campaign strategy

  • Create and implement complete campaign project plan including:

    • Fully integrated communications strategy including marketing and creative aspects needed

    • Monthly campaign updates (via newsletter) to leadership

    • Partnership with Creative Director for social media strategy

  • Direct, plan and coordinate work with campaign committee and key partners

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5 years fundraising experience with a proven track record of success in the solicitation of corporate and major gifts

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to potential donors, boards of directors, and a variety of stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and also participate effectively as part of a team

  • Ability to supervise and motivate volunteers

  • Strong Microsoft applications experience

  • Strong project management experience (certified PMP a plus)

  • Strong financial and business acumen
