About Childhelp Foster Family Agency of East Tennessee
Five years ago, the Childhelp Foster Family Agency of East Tennessee (FFA TN) opened its doors to fulfill its role in creating healthy, loving family relationships between the children who deserve them and the families that can provide them by actively recruiting, certifying and training foster families in Eastern Tennessee. FFA TN provides the following services: foster family certification, case management, free, on-going foster family training, crisis intervention, family & individual counseling, and respite services.
The Case Manager is the “front line” worker with the children, foster parents and biological families. The Case Manager shall provide casework services as outlined by state standards and COA accreditation guidelines.
- Attends and participates in all court hearings, CFTMs, treatment team meetings and other child-related meetings
- Conducts home visits, face-to-face visits and family visits in accordance with DCS state policies and COA standards
- Develops timely, individualized and comprehensive master service plans for all assigned cases in partnership with foster parents and biological parents. Service plans must be completed in accordance with agency policies and procedures and must meet COA guidelines.
- Implements individual service plans (if applicable) for the children and/or families
- Provides therapeutic support to children regarding educational goals, anger control and grief, separation, family and personal issues
- Provides crisis intervention services for children and foster families
- Transports children and families, as necessary
- Provides support and resources to foster families
- Facilitates group processes and structured treatment activities
- Develops and maintains professional working relationships with all necessary community agencies and services in order to fully implement treatment plans
- Communicates daily activities to the Supervisor, Foster Family Agency
- Attends workshops, conferences and/or seminars to enhance professional growth
- Reviews foster parents’ supervision of children’s activities and makes recommendations
- Completes chart documentation, monthly reports, quarterly foster home inspections and other paperwork in a timely manner
- Assists with the retention and recruitment of foster families
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 27 quarter hours in behavioral sciences, such as social work, psychology and sociology (One year of casework experience can be substituted for the 27 quarter hours)
- Master’s degree in social work
- 1 year of experience working with children and families or 1 year of experience working in a mental health setting
