Position Summary
Childhelp, a premiere Residential Treatment Facility and group home for children 6-14 years of age with severe emotional and behavioral challenges in the hills above Beaumont, California has an immediate opening for Housekeeper. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the areas assigned to you. Tasks include, but are not limited to, sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing and polishing floors and other surfaces in general use buildings as well as the cottages where our resident live. You will further be responsible for emptying trash receptacles, laundering the children's clothing, linens and bedding in the absence of the laundry person, cleaning designated outdoor areas, and assist cottage staff with making beds, deep cleaning, etc. You may also be assigned to drive to pick up donated items, as well as be assigned to provide care and supervision for residents on assigned shift to supplement the care ratio in the assigned cottage.

Minimum Qualifications
-
At least 21 years of age.
- Be able to pass criminal background screening through FBI, Department of Justice and Child Abuse Index
- High school diploma and at least one year verifiable work experience.
- Must possess an current and valid California driver's license with no restrictions.
- Complete three weeks of paid orientation and training to prepare you to be a Child Care Worker.

Preferred Qualifications
- All of the above plus at least one year verifiable experience working in a residential group home as direct care staff.
- Basis skills using the computer and MS Office, and knowledge of maintaining inventory records and supply ordering.

The Childhelp Merv Griffin Village is located in Beaumont, California.  Beaumont is 90 miles east of Los Angeles and 30 miles west of Palm Springs off Highway 10.  The Village has been providing a healing home environment for severely abused, neglected, and at-risk children since 1978.  Producing a true community atmosphere, the Village houses as many as 84 children ranging in age from 6 to 14 years old.  The residents live in cottages and are grouped by age and treatment needs.  The children arrive at the Village experiencing severe behavioral and emotional problems as a result of their previous abusive or neglectful situations.
