Position Summary:

This position will work closely with development, finance and program leadership to develop quality proposals and grant applications in support of priority programs. The incumbent will perform professional and administrative work, including project management of grant applications and proposals, as well as researching, identifying, developing and responding to government, public, community and private grant opportunities in the area of child abuse and neglect.



Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for developing and writing high-quality grant proposals including narratives, budgets, financials, incorporating relevant and current statistics, funder requirements, and other supporting documentation

  • Responsible for researching new grant prospects and ensuring alignment with current program priorities, strategic plan, initiatives, and mission

  • Responsible for maintenance of the annual grants calendar and managing high-volume workflow of grant writing, submissions, and reporting

  • Responsible for entering grant requirements into Raiser’s Edge application for funder relationship management

  • Partners with executive, finance, and program managers to compile financials and data in support of grant applications

  • Coordinates with the Grants Director to maintain organized and accurate electronic grant files

  • Articulates Childhelp’s strategic initiatives for child services including all programs within continuum of care in grant narratives and other funding requests

  • Represents Childhelp to local agencies, collaborations, and partnerships at funding opportunity meetings/grant orientations

  • Contributes to the grants team to achieve annual grant fundraising goals, and creating boilerplates and templates to make subsequent grant applications simplified

  • Complete other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or business and/or other related field.

  • At least 3 years related experience in grant writing and contract administration.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as accreditation requirements, agency funding guidelines, procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to solve practical problems

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task effectively

  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
